Great memories in Europe.
Boat Lagoon Yachting team were at Europe’s top show
Our sales team members have recently returned from Europe’s top two yachting and boating shows, the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show, where they report record levels of interest both in the luxury craft that we represent, and in the superb boating to be enjoyed in Southeast Asia.
Magnificent lineup at Princess Yachts berth included new flagship Princess Y95
Princess Yachts, the UK’s largest luxury yacht manufacturer, had an eight-yacht line-up at Cannes, an outstanding display that included the world premiere of the all-new Princess Y80, along with the show debuts of the Y95 and S72, plus the Y85, F65, F45, V55, and V40.
The Y95 has been crafted with an emphasis on long-range cruising comfort and inspired styling, featuring the longest and most expansive hull windows ever installed on a Princess yacht, and cutting an unmistakable profile out on the water.
We were very proud to be displaying our own newly acquired flagship Princess Y95 at this event, which was available for inspection before she headed out to Singapore, where she will make her Asian debut later this month.
Our managing director Vrit Yongsakul and the Boat Lagoon Yachting team congratulate Will Green, who has just been appointed CEO of Princess Yachts. Will had previously overseen the strategic direction of Princess’ global business in his role of commercial executive director, and been instrumental in developing the highly professional network of distributors and dealers who represent the brand in over 65 countries worldwide.
Magnificent memories onboard Princess Y95
The Boat Lagoon Yachting team arranged an exclusive itinerary for our Princess Y95 yacht owner, with a cruise that started from the south of France along to the island of Sardinia, on to the west coast of Zakynthos, in Greece, and ending up at Turkey.
Our arrangements for this personalised trip included flying over our customer relations team together with the superyacht captain and crew from Thailand to the south of France. We prepared the yacht, arranged the curated itinerary, and prepared food and beverages. We also provided full yacht management services, such as checking for perfect yacht condition and services available along the route, worked out with the knowledgeable captain who has expertise on sailing in Europe.
Jeanneau displays powerboats and sailboats
France’s Jeanneau had a huge display of both powerboats and sailboats at Cannes. Amongst the lineup were no less than three new powerboats, namely the DB 37 Outboard, the Merry Fisher 895 Series 2, and the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2.
The sailboats berth included the new Jeanneau Yachts 55, along with the Jeanneau 65, and Sun Odyssey 410 and 440.
The number of new craft indicates Jeanneau’s enormously innovative construction efforts, as few shipyards anywhere are able to present so many new models simultaneously at one international event.
Two Separate Stands for SACS Sport Boat
Sacs Tecnorib had two separate stands at Cannes, on the Pantiero C dock and on Quai Saint Pierre. Pantiero was located in the heart of the “Rib Village”, and this is where Sacs was displaying the Pirelli 30, 35, 42 and 50 speedboats. Also here were the Strider 11 Openback, Strider 13, Strider 15 FB, and the Rebel 47.
The nature of the Rebel product line found its natural positioning in the core of the Quai Saint Pierre, surrounded by much of the show’s dayboat segment. The Rebel 50 was making its world debut here, with the Rebel 55 alongside.
Both of these display areas had excellent VIP lounges for meeting and holding discussions with potential customers.
Superyachts at Monaco Boat Show
The largest annual gathering of superyachts in the world, the Monaco Yacht Show and is always a must for private owners and new buyers seeking an immersive experience in the super-luxury sector of the yachting world. Boat Lagoon Yachting is the exclusive partner for Burgess in Thailand and Singapore, and our team of specialists were there to discuss yachting requirements and facilities.
Burgess is a global leader for brokerage, charter, operational management and new-build advisory services for yachts over 30m (100ft), and presented eight superyachts at Monaco. These were:
- 50m (164ft) Book Ends
- 39.7m (130.2ft) Crazy
- 33.5m (109.8ft) Blooms
- 33.2m (109ft) Levantine II
- 32.6m (106.9ft) Ribelle
- 31.1m (102ft) Deep Blue III
- 63m (206.7ft) Artisan (anchored at the show)
Sales surge for larger yachts in Southeast Asia
Sales of all motorboats and yachts between 50ft and 120ft in length have increased by an unprecedented 40 percent in the Southeast Asia region compared to 2022, with the best sellers being new and pre-owned vessels in the 75ft to 95ft range.
This follows on from a buoyant 2022, which had seen a sales surge driven substantially by existing customers upgrading to bigger boats.
Boat Lagoon Yachting has the No 1 market share in the region in the size range of 75ft to 95ft for both new and used yachts, and operates in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Maldives.
What we have found is that this year and last year have seen outstanding sales that have resulted largely from a base of loyal customers upgrading, and their referrals of friends who seek the service assurance of a long-standing local dealership.
Sixty percent of our customers are repeat buyers, who trust our fully integrated services such as a complete yachting experience programme comprising dedicated service and after-sales with key factory trained staff and an experienced team, in addition to international standard yacht management, charter operations, through to unique customer care and VIP services.
Many customers are upgrading their ownership from 50ft to the flagship 95ft, a size that is becoming popular in Southeast Asia. We have seen particularly high movement at the upper end. Over only the past two years, we have seen the sale of four 95ft Princess yachts, with two of the X95 and two of the Y95 flagship models.
See you next time!a
Glad to make these good memories for you. Thank you and we will do the same next year!
